Aldi ice makers

Aldi sells ice makers only as occasional Special Buys, so most of the year there is nothing to buy. This page records every appearance we could actually verify, with the price that was live at the time, and what to buy in the eleven months a year when Aldi has none.

Read this before the table. This record is incomplete and should be read as such. Aldi Australia does not keep a public Special Buys archive: each Special Buys page is taken down when the promotion ends and is replaced with the message 'This promotion is no longer valid'. There is no Aldi product catalogue that can be searched by date. That means the only way to establish that a given item appeared is to find a third party capture of the page while it was live, and those captures exist only where a crawler happened to visit that week. Four separate ice maker appearances were located by URL, but only three could be verified with a price, and one of those three comes from a deal forum rather than from Aldi. There are almost certainly appearances that left no trace at all, including any before roughly 2023, so the absence of an entry here is not evidence that Aldi did not sell an ice maker in that period. What this file can say honestly is: Aldi Australia has sold a benchtop ice maker at least three times between late 2024 and late 2025, at two distinct price points, and it has never been a permanent range item.

Special Buys records checked 9 September 2026

Every appearance we could verify

Appeared Product Brand Price Evidence
12 November 2025 Ambiano Compact Portable Ice Maker 0.8L Ambiano $69.99 Secondary source
8 March 2025 Ice Cube Maker not stated $119 Archived capture
18 December 2024 Ice Cube Maker not stated $119 Archived capture
date not established Ice Cube Maker not stated not published Archived capture

1 of these entries is partial. The page existed, but the only capture of it was taken after the promotion had expired, so the date or the price could not be read off it. It is listed rather than dropped because the appearance itself is evidenced, and it is not filled in because it is not known.

What they have cost

Verified prices have run from $69.99 to $119. That is squarely in the range of the cheap machines sold year round by other retailers, so an Aldi ice maker is not a category of bargain that exists nowhere else. It is an ordinary budget machine that happens to be available for a week.

What to buy when Aldi has none

This is the useful part of the page for most people reading it, because most people are reading it outside a Special Buys week. These are the cheapest machines we could price that are available year round, at or below the highest price Aldi has charged.

We earn nothing from Aldi and nothing from most of the retailers in that table either. The full comparison is in the main ice maker comparison, and if you are weighing a machine against simply buying bags, that is worked through in machine against bagged ice.

The thing worth knowing before you queue

Special Buys machines are cheap-import units in the same class as Devanti and Anko, and the brands in that tier generally do not maintain spare parts or a repair service in Australia. That is not an Aldi criticism, it is true of most of the market at this price, but it means the machine is a consumable rather than an appliance. Which brands can actually be repaired here is in the warranty and parts register, and it matters more than the twenty dollars you save by queueing.

How we built this list

Aldi Special Buys URLs are structured by day and ISO week (for example wednesday-detail-wk51). Candidate ice maker URLs were found by listing every archived aldi.com.au/special-buys page in the Internet Archive and filtering for ice maker product slugs, then fetching each archived capture to read the price and specifications that were live at the time. The year for each entry is taken from the date of the archive capture combined with the weekday named in the URL, not assumed. Where a capture was taken after the promotion expired, no price is recorded.

Common questions

Does Aldi sell ice makers?

Only as Special Buys, which means for a few days at a time and then not again for months. We could verify 3 appearances with a price, the most recent of which was 12 November 2025 at $69.99. There is no permanent Aldi ice maker line, so if you are reading this outside a Special Buys week the answer is almost certainly no.

When will Aldi have ice makers again?

Nobody outside Aldi knows, and anyone publishing a confident date is guessing. The pattern in the appearances we could verify is summer-weighted, which fits the category, but three or four data points is not a schedule. Aldi publishes its Special Buys catalogue roughly a week ahead on its own site, and that is the only reliable way to find out.

Are Aldi ice makers any good?

They are the same class of machine as the cheap units sold year round elsewhere: a compressor, chilled prongs, hollow bullet ice, roughly 12kg per 24 hours. The Aldi versions have generally been priced competitively rather than remarkably, and the Ambiano unit at the low end was cheaper than most. The practical difference is not quality, it is that you cannot buy one when you want one, and that returns and any warranty claim run through Aldi.

Why is this list incomplete?

Because Aldi takes each Special Buys page down when the promotion ends and keeps no public archive. The only way to establish that something appeared is to find a third party capture of the page from while it was live, which exists only where a crawler happened to visit. So this page records what can be verified and states plainly that there will be appearances it misses, rather than presenting a tidy timeline that would imply completeness we do not have.
