Devanti ice makers
Devanti is the biggest single block in this dataset: 35 of the 58 bench machines we could source, roughly 60 per cent of everything on sale, spread across 8 retailers. It is a house brand rather than a manufacturer, which changes two things that matter before you buy. The model code is the only reliable way to tell one unit from another, and the same code sells for different money depending on which website you are standing on.

The full range we could price
Prices run from $89.85 to $369.95. 14 of these listings are live but show no price on the product page at all, which is worth knowing because they still turn up in search results and in comparison tools.

Three absences in that table are findings rather than gaps. Not one of the 35 listings publishes a decibel figure, so nothing on this page can tell you how loud a Devanti is. 16 of 35 publish a wattage, which is why the running cost of most of them cannot be calculated. And 13 of the 35 make bullet ice, the hollow cylinder that forms around a chilled metal spike, which is the cheapest ice to manufacture and the reason this brand can sell a machine for under a hundred dollars.
Reading the model code
Devanti names the same class of machine half a dozen different ways, so the product title is close to useless for comparison. The code is not. Every Devanti model number here opens IM-ZB, and 18 of the 35 listings publish no code at all, which is the first thing to be wary of.
- The two digits after IM-ZB usually track the headline output. Of the 17 listings that publish both a code and a kg per 24 hour figure, 15 agree and 2 do not. The exceptions are worth naming: IM-ZB12S-SS is sold as 15kg, IM-ZB-20F-SS is sold as 12kg. In both cases the listing itself carries two different output figures, so the code is following one number and the marketing is following the other.
- The trailing letters are a colour. 17 of the 35 listings end in a recognisable colour suffix: BK for black, WH for white, SS for stainless or silver, RD for red. This is also where the codes stop being trustworthy. Amazon prints IM-ZB-12B-RD on a machine it sells as Silver, and devanti.com.au makes exactly the same mistake on its own silver listing, so the error is at the source rather than at the retailer.
- The middle letter separates SKUs that are otherwise the same machine. Devanti sells IM-ZB12G, IM-ZB12H, IM-ZB12K and IM-ZB-12B units that all publish 12kg per 24 hours from a 1.3 litre tank with a 0.6kg basket. On paper a buyer cannot tell them apart, and Bunnings prices them differently anyway with no stated reason.
The same machine at different shops
4 Devanti model codes appear at more than one retailer in this dataset. That is where the money is, because nothing about the machine changes between them.
| Model | Cheapest | Dearest | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| IM-ZB15N-BK | Kitchen Warehouse $224.95 | Bunnings $239.95 | $15 |
| IM-ZB12H-BK | Bunnings $103.85 | Amazon AU $119.90 | $16.05 |
| IM-ZB-12B-BK | Bunnings $105.85 | only one priced listing | not comparable |
| IM-ZB-20F-SS | Kitchen Warehouse $215.95 | only one priced listing | not comparable |
The bigger gap is not between retailers. It is between the retailers and Devanti's own website. Across the 10 units where the sourcing note recorded a devanti.com.au price for the same SKU, the retail price runs from 42 to 61 per cent of what the brand charges for it.
| Model | Sold by | Retail | devanti.com.au | Retail as % of brand price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IM-ZB12G-WH | Bunnings | $89.85 | $214.99 | 42% |
| IM-ZB12K-BK | Bunnings | $94.85 | $216.99 | 44% |
| IM-ZB-12B-RD | Amazon AU | $99.35 | $216.99 | 46% |
| IM-ZB-12B-BK | Bunnings | $105.85 | $216.99 | 49% |
| IM-ZB12H-BK | Bunnings | $103.85 | $197.99 | 52% |
| IM-ZB15N-BK | Kitchen Warehouse | $224.95 | $424.99 | 53% |
| IM-ZB-18F-SS | Amazon AU | $214.95 | $391.99 | 55% |
| IM-ZB15N-BK | Harvey Norman | $234 | $424.99 | 55% |
| IM-ZB15N-BK | Bunnings | $239.95 | $424.99 | 56% |
| IM-ZB15NB-SS | Amazon AU | $262.32 | $432.99 | 61% |
Stated plainly: the most expensive place to buy a Devanti is Devanti. That is normal for a house brand whose own site functions as a reference price, and it is the reason a retailer can advertise a saving of two hundred dollars on a machine that has never sold for the higher figure in volume. Treat the was price as marketing and compare the paid prices.
The nugget model we cannot call
7 of these listings are the same machine, the IM-ZB15N-BK, sold at Kitchen Warehouse, Harvey Norman, Bunnings, Big W, Amazon AU at $224.95 to $262.32. It is sold as a nugget ice maker. We are not able to tell you whether it is one.
Why the field is empty rather than filled in. Two independent sourcing passes examined the product imagery for this exact model and came to opposite conclusions. One read hollow cylinders, which is bullet ice, from the Kitchen Warehouse and Harvey Norman listings. The other read compressed pellets, which is nugget ice, from the Bunnings listing. Published sources could not settle it, so the ice type is recorded as not established. We would rather publish the disagreement than pick the answer we preferred.
What is checkable, and points one way:
- No listing anywhere, including Devanti's own product page, mentions an auger, a rotating drum or compressed ice flakes. That mechanism is the entire reason a nugget machine costs what it costs, and every machine we could verify as nugget leads with it.
- Devanti's own wording is nugget-shaped ice. That is a claim about the shape of the ice rather than about how it is made.
- The published cycle is five to ten minutes. Auger machines produce continuously and take substantially longer to a first harvest. A short batch cycle is bullet machine behaviour.
That is suggestive and not conclusive, which is exactly why we have not written bullet into the record either. The full reasoning, alongside the machines whose nugget claim we could verify, is on the nugget ice maker page. If you want nugget ice specifically, buy from the verified list there. If price is the deciding factor, buy this one understanding that you may receive bullet ice, and read the returns policy first.
One more thing about this model. Devanti's own site lists it at $424.99, which is roughly 1.9 times the cheapest retail price for the identical SKU. A separate Devanti model, the IM-ZB15NB-SS, is recorded as genuine nugget in this dataset because Devanti's own imagery for that SKU carries a nugget versus bullet comparison graphic. Two similar codes, two different evidence positions. The code is doing real work here.
What to actually buy
- If you want ice in a glass for the least money. The cheapest Devanti here is $89.85 and it makes bullet ice, which is fine in a drink and melts faster than a solid cube. At that price the machine is close to disposable, and the four near-identical 12kg SKUs are interchangeable, so buy whichever is cheapest on the day.
- If you want solid cubes rather than hollow bullets. 2 of these are plate or grid machines that freeze square cubes over a much longer cycle: IM-ZB-18F-SS at Amazon AU, $214.95; IM-ZB-20F-SS at Kitchen Warehouse, $215.95. They take roughly three times as long per batch and weigh more, which is the trade.
- If you want nugget ice. Do not start here. Start with the verified machines on the nugget page, most of which are sold by retailers we earn nothing from, and treat the price difference as the cost of knowing what you are getting.
- If you are comparing Devanti against the other house brands. The same chassis codes turn up under several badges at different prices, which is covered on the house-brand page.
Nothing here is a bad machine for the money. What Devanti is not is a manufacturer with a service network, and the listings show it: 20 of the 35 do not state what ice they make, the decibel column is empty end to end, and the warranty term is published on 19 of 35. Buy on price and on who you will be dealing with if it fails.
Common questions
Who actually makes Devanti ice makers?
Devanti is an Australian house brand rather than a manufacturer. It puts its own model codes on machines built by an overseas contract manufacturer, and the same hardware turns up under other badges: the Amazon listing for one Devanti unit names Artiss Furnishings as the manufacturer with a Devanti SKU as the manufacturer reference, and another prints the factory code HZB-15NB alongside Devanti's own IM-ZB15NB-SS. HZB is the same prefix that CROWNFUL and WIE use on their machines. There is no Devanti service centre network in the way there is for an appliance brand: warranty goes back through whoever sold you the machine, and across the 35 Devanti listings here that seller is often a marketplace trader rather than the retailer whose website you are on.
Is the Devanti nugget ice maker really nugget ice?
We could not settle it. Two independent sourcing passes read the product imagery for the IM-ZB15N-BK and reached opposite conclusions, one seeing hollow cylinders and the other seeing compressed pellets, so the ice type field for that model is recorded as not established rather than filled in. What is published: no listing anywhere, including Devanti's own product page, describes an auger, a rotating drum or compressed ice flakes, Devanti's own wording is nugget-shaped ice which is a claim about shape and not about how the ice is made, and the stated five to ten minute batch cycle is characteristic of a bullet machine. A separate Devanti model, the IM-ZB15NB-SS on Amazon, is recorded as nugget because Devanti's own imagery for that SKU carries a nugget versus bullet comparison graphic. Different model, different evidence.
Where is a Devanti ice maker cheapest?
On the 35 listings checked, Bunnings holds the lowest prices in the 12kg tier and Devanti's own website holds the highest price for every model where both are published. Across the 10 units we could compare directly, the retail price sits between 42 and 61 per cent of what devanti.com.au asks for the same SKU. Buying from the brand is the most expensive way to buy the brand.
What warranty comes with a Devanti ice maker?
Twelve months where a term is published at all, which is 19 of the 35 listings here. The rest publish no warranty term, and the Australian Consumer Law guarantees underneath are unaffected by that either way. The practical question is who handles the claim: several of these are sold by marketplace sellers on Bunnings and Amazon rather than by Bunnings or Amazon, so the counterparty is the trader, not the retail brand on the website.
